Adventures of a Cake and Cookie Decorator...
Cute sports balls!! :)
Perfect for a party!
Could these be any more perfect!!!???? Wow!!! Did you buy the special cookie cutter from the cheap cookie cutter website? Or did you use a projector? The icing looks like it set up just right as well. I bet they are delicious!
Thanks Everyone!!! @Suz - None of the above! :o) I actually cut out a small pentagon shape out of some plastic stencil sheeting that I bought at the craft store. Then I traced the shape in the center of the cookie with an edible marker. Then I made a 1/4" line from each of the 5 points of the pentagon out towards the outer edge of the circle. Then I used the stencil again to create a half of the pentagon on the edge of the cookie. Then I traced my lines with black royal icing. After it was dry I filled in the centers with white and black icing. Sounds easier than it actually is. Luckily I only made 8 of them! :o) After complaining about making these on my FB page, someone suggested buying the soccerball cutter from www.cheapcookiecutters.com. It has the lines already on the cutter so when you press on your dough, the lines make an imprint! I ordered it right away!! :o)
These are all wonderful and the steps you went to in order to get your soccer balls just perfect really worked. However, I'm sure you will be delighted when your new soccer ball cookie cutter arrives.
I've just found you through Sugar Belle. Fabulous blog, and love your cookies!
Such a lovely set - those soccer balls are AMAZING!!! From your description above it sounds as though they were a real labour of love!
