Saltine Toffee "Bark"


You all have probably made this recipe before...It's an oldie but goodie. Since I made some today, I thought I'd post the recipe on the off-chance someone hasn't seen this before. It's one of my favorites....sweet...salty...crunchy... Yummmmmm!

Saltine Toffee "Bark"

Saltine Crackers (approximately 1 sleeve of crackers)
2 Sticks of Butter
2 Cups of Dark Brown Sugar
2 Cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 Cup Chopped Pecans

Preheat your oven to 350.
Line your jelly roll pan with tin foil and give it a light spritz of non-stick cooking spray. Place one layer of crackers on the bottom of the jelly roll pan. Arrange them close together, in rows. In a sauce pan melt your butter and sugar. Mix together until boiling. Let it boil for 2-3 minutes longer, continually stirring. Pour the mixture over the crackers and spread in an even layer. Put the jelly roll pan in the oven for 10 minutes. The mixture will bubble. Remove from oven and let cool for 1 minute. Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top and let it sit for 2-3 more minutes. Spread chocolate evenly and then sprinkle chopped pecans over the top. Put the pan in the fridge for an hour or so until it hardens. Then pop it out of the pan, remove the foil and chop into bite size pieces. DELISH!! :o)

  1. WOW!!! Anything with two sticks of butter has to be good right :-)

    I've never made this before but I definitely will for X-mas gifts now!
