Sadie's Cake!

This cake isn't half as pretty as the little girl I made it for: my niece Sadie. Congratulations on making your First Holy Communion Sadie! LaLa loves you! XO

Bottom layer is Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake with Chocolate Ganache Filling. Top layer is Strawberry Cake with Buttercream Filling. All Fondant Decoration.

  4. So cute! I found your blog through the picture of this cake on cakecentral.com. I'm a stay at home mom, too, and I decided to start taking the Wilton cake decorating classes at Hobby Lobby in February to have a hobby of some sort. I'm really new to everything, but my goal is to make my daughter's first birthday cake in August. Your work is great!

  5. WOW..this is amazing! I was checking out your side pictures and saw a cookie monster cupcake? That is so awesome. I want to learn!!
Do you think I could veganize the fondant recipe by using agar agar instead of gelatin?

  6. Thanks everyone! The cake was a huge success...I have lots of pictures of my niece's reaction (it was a surprise) and some pics of the inside of the cake ...stay tuned!

Kirsten...I'm definitely the worst person to ask about making sweets healthy! LOL! I would suggest going to www.cakecentral.com and posting your question to the forum. There are lots of experts that could give you a better answer...good luck! :o)

  8. This cake was not only beautiful, but the chocolate layer was a chocoholics dream! I've enjoyed a piece (maybe two) every day since the Communion and it has stayed fresh and yummy in the fridge!
